Voluntary product recall for safety reviews

Important information for BMC TEAMMACHINE SLR01 Disc owners

Fork: BMC TEAMMACHINE SLR01 DISC Bicycles and Framesets (Model Years 2018 and 2019)

» Affected bikes Teammachine SLR01 DISC Model Years 2018 and 2019

BMC has identified a potential safety issue with the fork of the TEAMMACHINE SLR01 DISC models that first went on the market in June 2017. The issue exclusively affects the TEAMMACHINE SLR 01 DISC models with disc brakes from the Model Years 2018 and 2019. Bikes from Model Year 2020 are not affected.

We identified a technical problem with a part of the fork, which now means that retailers must carry out safety checks. The steerer tube can crack or break during use, causing a fall hazard.

Even though the number of such cases remains very low, BMC has decided to recall all TEAMMACHINE SLR01 DISC bikes from the Model Years 2018 and 2019 to undergo precautionary safety checks.

Owners of the TEAMMACHINE SLR01 DISC models from Model Year 2018 and 2019 are requested to NOT ride their bike and to take it to a BMC retailer for a safety check.

BMC retailers will be able to determine with a quick check if the bike is fit to be ridden again or if it requires a replacement fork. The safety check and the replacement fork, if needed, will be provided to you for free.

The safety of our customers is our highest priority. BMC sincerely apologises for the situation, and would like to thank you for your support.
